As Lead UX Designer, I designed features for player engagement to support complex game systems and deliver the next mobile game franchise for Scopely.
My Role

Led end-to-end UX for core systems and complex mechanics, improving player comprehension and strengthening engagement in a live F2P environment.​ Focus on developing a seamless experience while optimizing engagement, revenue, retention, and other key metrics.

  • Scope: Design new features and systems from early concept through launch.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Facilitated ideation sessions and design reviews to align teams.

  • End-to-End Design:  Crafted user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes across all platforms.

  • Research & Validation: Collaborated with research to define usability testing, plan studies, and validate design direction.

  • Mentorship: Coached junior designers to elevate design execution, build capacity, and proactively resolve issues.

  • Partners: Game Design, PM, UI Art, Engineering

Research and Discovery​​​
  • Led early-stage discovery with product and stakeholder partners to clarify user needs, define the opportunity space, and align on strategic objectives

  • Evaluated competitive experiences to identify patterns, usability standards, and areas for innovation

Design Core Flows​​ and Features

Design new features and systems from early concept through launch, using data insights to shape role-aware experiences. Beginning with high-level concepts and core loops, providing hands-on design leadership and UX recommendations.

Develop Wireframes and Prototypes​​​
  • Create wireframes and prototypes to illustrate details and interactions of the feature

  • Facilitate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to present designs, collect feedback, ideate, iterate and refine designs.

Define and Document Design Specifications​​​
  • Delivered annotated design specs to clearly communicate flows, states, and component behavior

  • Validated final implementation through design QA, issue tracking, and iterative refinements

Results and Impact​​​
  • Made a positive impact with innovative UX improvements through concepting, design, rapid iteration and prototyping

  • Designed new gameplay features and systems for core features

  • Balanced tactical, hands-on design, with strategic discussions, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams
